I’m Emily Joy, a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach focused on efficient, no-nonsense fitness. I created Sweat with Joy to help busy people get stronger, feel better, and make sustainable changes—without wasting time. Whether you’re here for quick HIIT workouts, form check videos, or simple recipe swaps that fit your goals, everything I offer is built around efficiently maximizing results.
I am certified in personal training through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA-accredited).
I specialize in Nutrition Coaching (ISSA), Online Coaching (ISSA), and High-Intensity Interval Training (Train Fitness)
In 2019, I decided to make a change. I was overweight and that weight was causing medical issues such as back pain, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, and other problems such as feeling out of breath, and having issues finding clothing. So, I decided to start going to the gym and eating better.
Over the course of a year, I lost approximately 80 pounds, got fitter and healthier, and dropped my resting heart rate from about 100 to the 50s. My blood pressure also dropped, and my cholesterol numbers fell into the appropriate range.
I started running and was able to run a marathon by 2022.

On this website, Sweat with Joy offers smart swaps to recipes that make them more macro-friendly, High-Intensity Interval workouts, form demonstrations, and workout circuits, supersets, or progressions.

These communities offer Smart Swap recipes, HIIT videos, workout videos, and form demonstrations. You can also purchase individual recipes, supersets or circuits, form demonstrations, or sections from a HIIT class. Some of these are subscription-only.
There are four different subscription plans: Smart Swaps, Workout Videos, HIIT Classes, and All Access. Smart swaps are access to my recipe modifications that make some favorite recipes healthier. Workout videos include supersets, circuits, and progressions that would be good to incorporate into any workout, form demonstrations for common errors, and High-Intensity Interval Classes, which have six different sections that keep your heart rate high while engaging you in muscular conditioning.
